new vintage

last month not only did we continue with our knitting projects but we also got the sewing machine out to make some alterations to a vintage dress. We'll have the machines available this month when we meet on:

next create gathering... post clothes swap!

dear create ones... we have decided to cancel the "create" gathering on May 20th - instead, there is a gathering at Floras house and a bit of a clothes swapping party. However... I have been to a brilliant workshop today on "how to become a domestic sewing goddess" or something like that. 

So... how about some time at Create we have a look at sewing - hemming, changing necklines, adding fun buttons etc - revamping, mending, reclaiming... redeeming!

latest creates

So the create ladies have been knitting! 

We're making snoods and scarf's and blankets and been trying out different stitches and patterns.  We're loving the chunky needles which help your knitting to grow pretty quick.  

If you want to have a go you can pick up cheap wool at the trinity hospice charity shops on Lavender Hill and St John's Road. They have a variety of colours and they usually have a selection of second hand needles stored out back

 - ask the assistant to find them for you.
